'Fields of Joy'[Cover] by Rare Element feat. Britt Xyra Dusk
Lunar & the Deception is a female-fronted band from London, blending elements of Alt. Rock, Indie-Rock, Darkwave, Dream-Pop, Gothic & Neo-Psychedelia.
Lead singer Britt, is a songwriter & costume-designer based in London, born in South Africa. She is known for her activism, high fashion theatrics and captivating performances.
Musically, the band combine celestial synth-scapes, tribal rhythms, dramatic strings & hypnotic vocals to create an immersive journey of sound, loaded with prophecy, poetry & emotion.
The band feel that it’s an artistic duty to reflect on social injustice through the ages and the plight of the underdog as a voice for the people. They want to inspire, enlighten, soothe & champion a raised vibration of consciousness.
Britt draws on her 15-years experience as a professional costume designer to create the band’s strong, visual artistic direction – based around the power of prophetic female sorcerers & tribal warriors - past & present.
“With its ethereal vocals, masterful production and gripping emotional depth, ‘Fields of Joy’ is more than just a cover...
it’s a re-imagination of a classic, infused with modern sensibilities & a sense of epic storytelling. A must-listen.” Jyla’s Bloggant
“More than a simple cover, this song becomes a dialogue between eras, genres, and voices. Rare Element and Britt Foe don't just revive a classic: they give it new life, in a version as beautiful as it is contemporary.” Iggy Magazine
“This ‘Fields of Joy’ cover is a masterclass in reinterpretation — a rare blend of atmosphere, technical artistry, and emotive vocals that will linger in your mind long after the final note. A true gem in the world of psychedelic alternative rock.” Good Music Radar
